Google Review Link Generator: Free Online Tool

Find it with Google's "Place ID Finder" or in your Business Profile. Paste only the ID.

Review link

HTML button

FREE TOOL · NO SIGN-UP

This Google review link generator turns your business’s Place ID into a direct link that opens the Google review form, so customers can rate you without searching for your profile first. It also creates a ready-made “Review us on Google” HTML button for your website or emails. Fewer steps means more customers actually finish a review. Paste your Place ID, add your business name and copy the link. Everything runs in your browser.

How to Use the Google Review Link Generator

Two fields and two outputs.

Step 1: Enter or paste your input

Paste your Google Place ID into the first field. It is a code that usually starts with “ChIJ”, such as ChIJN1t_tDeuEmsRUsoyG83frY4. If you paste a full review URL that contains placeid=, the tool extracts the ID for you. The next section explains how to find your ID.

Step 2: Choose your options

Add your Business name. It appears in the button text, for example “★ Review Bright Dental on Google”. If you leave it blank, the button says “Review us on Google”. The tool also checks the ID format and tells you if it looks valid or needs a second look.

Step 3: Copy, download or apply the result

Click Copy link to get your review URL, which looks like https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_ID. Below it, copy or download the HTML button code for your website or email template. Open the link yourself in a browser to check it shows your business and the star rating box before sharing it with customers.

How a Direct Review Link Works

A direct Google review link opens your business’s review window straight away, with the stars ready to tap. Without it, a customer has to search for your business, find the right listing, scroll to reviews and tap “Write a review”. Every extra step loses people.

The link uses Google’s writereview address with your Place ID, which is the unique identifier Google gives every place on Maps. Because the ID points to one exact listing, the link works even if several businesses share a similar name.

When the customer opens the link:

  • If they are signed in to a Google account, they see the review form for your business.
  • If not, Google asks them to sign in first, since reviews require an account.
  • On phones, it may open in the browser or the Google Maps app.

Google Business Profile also gives you a short review link in the dashboard under “Ask for reviews”. Both work. The Place ID link is handy when you manage several locations, build links for clients, or want a permanent URL that does not depend on a short link service.

Finding Your Place ID

Your Place ID is a unique code for your business listing on Google Maps. Three ways to find it:

  1. Google’s Place ID Finder. Search “Place ID Finder Google Maps Platform” to find Google’s free tool. Type your business name in the map search box, select it, and the Place ID appears in the popup.
  2. Your Business Profile. In your Google Business Profile, use “Ask for reviews” or “Share review form” to get a review link. Some versions show the Place ID in the long URL behind the short link.
  3. Google Maps URLs. Some shared links and developer tools show place_id or placeid in the URL. Copy the code after the equals sign.

Tips:

  • Copy only the ID, without spaces or quotes.
  • Place IDs are case sensitive. Do not change capitals.
  • Each location of a multi-location business has its own ID.
  • If your listing is merged or moved, the ID can change, so retest your link once in a while.

Sharing via Email, SMS and QR Codes

The best time to ask for a review is soon after a good experience. Put your link where customers already are:

  • Email: add the HTML button to receipts, follow-up emails and newsletters. Paste the button code into an HTML block, or use the plain link behind a button in your email builder.
  • SMS and WhatsApp: send the plain link with a short personal note. Messages from a real person get much better responses than automated blasts. Our WhatsApp Link Generator helps you start the chat.
  • QR codes: turn the link into a QR code with any QR generator and put it on receipts, table cards, counters, invoices and packaging.
  • Website: add the button to your contact page, footer or thank-you pages using a Custom HTML block.
  • In person: staff can show a QR code on a tablet or card at checkout.

Keep the request short: thank them, say a review helps, and give the link.

Google Review Policy: What Not to Do

Google’s review policies are strict, and breaking them can lead to reviews being removed or your profile being restricted. Avoid these:

  • Incentives. Do not offer discounts, free items, entries into prize draws or payments in exchange for reviews.
  • Review gating. Do not ask customers whether they are happy first and only send the review link to happy ones. Ask everyone equally.
  • Fake reviews. Do not write reviews for yourself, ask staff or family to review you, or buy reviews.
  • Review stations. Avoid setting up a device on site where everyone posts from the same location or network.
  • Reviewing competitors negatively.

It is fine to ask every customer for honest feedback, send reminders, and reply to all reviews, both positive and negative. Replies show future customers that you listen.

  • Test your link while signed in and signed out.
  • Ask within a day or two of the visit or purchase.
  • Personalize the message with the customer’s name.
  • Reply to every review.
  • Track which channel brings reviews by using a separate QR code or message for each.

Common mistakes and quick fixes

  • Wrong business opens. You copied the ID of a different listing. Recheck in the Place ID Finder.
  • “Looks invalid” warning. Some valid IDs do not start with ChIJ. Test the link; if it opens your form, it is fine.
  • Button text shows “us”. Add your business name in the second field.
  • Asking in bulk. Sudden bursts of reviews can trigger filters. Ask steadily over time.

Google Review Link Generator: Free Online Tool FAQs

Get a Google review link by finding your business’s Place ID with Google’s Place ID Finder, then pasting it into a Google review link generator. It creates a URL like search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_ID that opens your review form directly. You can also copy a review link from your Google Business Profile dashboard.

A Google Place ID is a unique code that identifies a specific place in Google Maps, such as your business listing. It usually starts with ChIJ and is case sensitive. Developers and tools use it to point to one exact listing, which is why it is used to build direct review links.

No, you cannot offer incentives for Google reviews. Google’s policies ban discounts, free products, gifts, prize draws or payments in exchange for reviews, and also ban asking only happy customers. Breaking these rules can get reviews removed or your profile restricted. Ask every customer for honest feedback instead, without any reward.

A Google Review is a public rating from one to five stars, often with written feedback, that a customer leaves on a business’s Google Business Profile. Reviews appear in Google Search and Maps, help other people choose where to go, and are one of the signals Google uses for local rankings.

Google Reviews matter because they appear right next to your business in Search and Maps, where people decide who to contact. Reviews build trust with new customers, give you feedback to improve, and are a known local ranking factor. A steady flow of genuine reviews supports both visibility and conversions.
